December 10, 2011: Just about finished with this
session. We've been winning and we're over 50%, now. The boys' coach,
Mark Zichterman, has had a little experience with the game in the past.
Yeah, like one of the top scorers ever at Cornerstone University in
Grand Rapids. He helped lead his team to a national victory while he
played there.

October 24, 2011: Courthouse Basketball
officially began tonight. We played a team from Grandville and one from
Morley-Stanwood (teams we played last year). We won both games by
a respectable margin. Both teams were good; it was nice to chalk up a
couple wins to start out, though! Way to go, Zeeland Blast!

Well, I didn't even get a chance to put Dimitri's
football schedule out here. Somewhere prior to the Sept. 24 game, he got
a strained meniscus in his right knee and ended up with a knee brace.
Then, during play on Oct. 1, he got whacked again in the knee; this time
it was the left knee. We took him to a renowned sports-injury doctor who
told him that the left knee was a real bad bruise. The doctor told him
"no play" for 2-3 weeks. 10/8/11 starts basketball practice. He'll be
there right after he watches his football team play in the morning. One
of the other quarterbacks on the team is out with a broken rib. Yikes!

June 24, 2011: Well, we finished a great season
of "Major League" baseball tonight. Dimitri was the last one up to the
plate for this team. He was SO sick from allergies and complications
thereof, he probably should not have played. I give him credit for
sticking with it to the end; at one point he said he had enough... but
he gave it one more shot to finish. Dimitri ended up with a respectable
.412 batting average (including playoff games). The team as a whole was
at .316.

April 27, 2011 marks the opening game for Dimitri. This
year in rec league he will move up from the "minor league" to the "major
league". Here is his schedule BELOW. All games held at "Kaat Park" just
west of 104th Ave. on Quincy St., Holland Township. His team is K.C.

November 1, 2010: Let the "Courthouse
Basketball" league begin! Dimitri's team's name: "Zeeland Beasts".
(We ended up with about a 50% win rate).

October 23, 2010: Rocket football has come and
gone for another season! This year,
Dimitri's team went 4-0-2. His
team's total points were 182, twice what their
opponent's scored. I'm
going out on a limb here, but I think the "Dominator's"
dominated all
THIRTY-FIVE teams this year with total points!

August 6, 2010: Dimitri and his basketball
buddies (below) got together again for a little
3-on-3. This is the same foursome as 2008. They won 2 and lost 2. It was
a smaller tournament so they play "up" a couple games.

Baseball is over, now. Dimitri's team had a
similar season to last year. 1 win, 13 losses. However, his batting
average went from .000 in 2009 to .306 in 2010. His secret? He switched
from right-hand to left-hand batting!
Angela is played Tee-Ball this year. I guess I'll have to create an "A-ZONE" page...

Basketball is officially done (mid March).

Soccer is still going on and we're doing
basketball!
Dimitri will have games on Jan. 23. 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20 & 27. Times and
locations to be announced.

Football is over and right into soccer:
Starting out, we're in the 11-12 year old league. Then we go back to
U-10 league for the next two sessions.
All games are at the "Soccer
Stop" in Holland.

October 18, 2008: Alright! That's a wrap.
Football season is over. Final record 1-4-1. Dimitri did a great job
today. He played the entire game since a couple team mates were out
sick.

October 11, 2008: This is the day they worked
for all season long!!! The Quincy Dux WON their FIRST game
today (16-0) with a SHUT-OUT against West Ottawa. This was a big
confidence booster for these kids. It makes us parents feel real good,
too. Way to go team!!! One more next week.

Sept. 27, 2008:They're getting better one game
at a time. Unfortunately, we're running out of games! Today Dimitri
played defense only. The team actually posted their first score- yea!

Sept. 23, 2008:OK, the second game wasn't quite as bad as the first;
still a loss. I have to brag a little bit... Dimitri was a "Seek &
Destroy" machine tonight. He had at least four awesome tackles that I
saw.

Sept. 20, 2008:Well, their first REAL game they got smoked...0-28.
Allendale kept running a play that kept working for them and we didn't
figure out how to shut them down.

September 6, 2008: Byron Center pretty much
showed the kids how to play football today! Zeeland came around toward the
end of the morning, but still, it was rough.

August 23, 2008: Dimitri and his basketball
buddies (below) got together again for a little 3-on-3; they lost to some
5th-graders and seasoned veteran players. However, they gave it their all!

August 18, 2008: Well, football practice started
today (conditioning last week). I was feeling rather out of place due to
my lack of football knowledge when a friend confessed to me that he's
NEVER been to a football game (and his son is playing). That's going to be
tough! Game schedule coming up. Also, this Friday & Saturday is another
3-on-3. Should be fun.

May 26, 2008: Dimitri played in his first 3-on-3
today (Memorial Day). Lost the first game to some 4th & 5th grade girls;
lost the second game to some 5th grade boys. Went on to the "Down & Out"
bracket and ended up playing the 4th/5th grade girls again but this time
they WON 6-5. It was pretty cool to watch Dimitri put in the winning
basket! The others guys did a great job of playing, too. They all worked
hard. Now Dimitri loves the idea of playing more street ball. Pictures:

April 2, 2008: Well, we were not there to enjoy
the final two games of the season, but the scores are below. Click on the
"date" for stats (which are incomplete for the last two games). See y'all

March 27, 2008: Team Vertellus took to the
"arena" tonight playing a non-sanctioned game against the
Jets. The opposition came on strong but tired near the half-way mark
allowing us one point. Before it was over, both teams showed signs of
tiredness but, once again, we came out the victors and won 4-0!!! See ya
all on the 24th!

March 20, 2008: he started a recreational
wrestling program today. Then right off to a soccer match. Gettin' kinda
busy here.

February 23, 2008: Once again, the RP Rockets
beat us. Looks like we won't have our chance to even the score as we won't
be playing them in the upcoming session. Six more games!

January 26, 2008: Dimitri started up "Basketball
Camp" again today.

January 26, 2008: Dimitri's soccer team went
from blue shirts to white shirts today. Once the team got going, they
defeated team "Excel-R-Ation" (the team that RP Rockets has never beat)
but we can't seem to beat RP Rockets...hmmm.

Nov. 3, 2008: Dimitri wrapped up his rec. league

Sept. 8, 2007: Today was Dimitri's first soccer
game of the season. They won 8-0. Dimitri scored FOUR goals! They have a
great team this year with kids he's teamed up with in prior seasons.
UPDATE: 9/22/07- the team is 4-0 as of today. Today's score was 4-2.
Dimitri got two points!
UPDATE: 9/29/07- the team is 5-0, now.
UPDATE: 10/13/07- the team is 6-0. Dimitri & Cobe each scored 3
points for a shut-out! His 2007 soccer photo is here.

March 21, 2006: Dimitri & I were disappointed with UTEP or Texas Western's
attempt at being in the NCAA this year. They lost to Memphis and it was
over. However, they were invited into the NIT (Not In Tournament, I guess)
where they beat Lipscomb in the first round which brought them as close to
home as ever in the second round to Ann Arbor. I thought I would go to the
game, but ended up waiting to see if they would play Notre Dame, but
again, they lost and now it's over over!
