Face Book seems to be the new choice of communication. You can find me there HERE.

  • April 13, 2010: Tonight, Lynette announced that she has cancer. Surgeries follow; fund raisers and more via Face Book. Follow her saga on her blog: http://www.thisandthat-lynette.blogspot.com/

  • April 21, 2009: WELCOME Lily Kaye Bell to the family! 9:38 this morning; 8 pounds, 1 ounce; 19-1/2" long. Born to Lynette and Matt joining Landon, Bailey and Elliot. (See photos).

  • November 11, 2008: As some of you may know, I'm trying to get Dimitri to go to Mexico on our Mission Trip in January. He's pretty pumped up about the idea, brushing up on his Spanish. We were going to try to get there some Spring or Summer, but that hope keeps fading away. Thought this might be a good option.

  • November 9, 2008: As you can see I was very much in to walking everyday, that is until I pulled a calf-muscle. That was a month ago. It's still an issue, but not as bad. So, let's see... what have I got for excuses, now? It's cold out?

  • October 8, 2008: Angela learned to ride a two-wheeled bike today. Only for a few feet at a time, but she was determined and succeeded! Way to go, Ang.

  • October 1, 2008: I just want to say here and now how proud I am of Mary Lynn & Sarah for doing the three day, 60 mile walk.
They did their due diligence by raising the required funds ($2,200.00 each; thanks to all) then they put aside all the fun things that they could have been doing that weekend and walked some twenty miles each of three days! Then they drove home tired, sore and with blisters on their feet only to get back to work the next day.
All this they did to unselfishly raise money for cancer research. Congratulations!

  • September 2, 2008: Dimitri is back to school (loves it!); playing Rocket Football, too. Angela starts Early Kindergarten in a couple of weeks. Hard to believe summer "ended" when were were sitting on the beach in 90 degree temps yesterday.

  • June 7, 2008: Wow! Big storm blew through last night dumping 4-6" of rain on us along with all the other weather related maladies. As I write here about it, we're in the middle of another round of thunder storms. See my lightning photos here.

  • April 14, 2008: Oooo, that was nice! It's called SPRING BREAK for a reason... to get out of Michigan and into some sunshine! Wow! After all the dismal, cloudy, snowy days we've had, it sure is nice to go somewhere warm and put your bare feet into the sand. Check out the photos.

  • Jan. 7, 2008: Happy New Year! Yes it IS January. Today's high temperature was 65°! The snow melted fast and now there are flood warnings. And to top it all off: a TORNADO WARNING for Muskegon County. Wow!

  • Dec. 27, 2007: For Dimitri's birthday, I took him & a few of his friends to "The Lost City" to play laser-tag. They even let me play. I didn't do very well, but it was fun!

  • Dec. 13, 2008: We celebrated Angela's 4th birthday tonight with ALL of her brothers, sisters, spouses and friends. She received some very nice gifts from all of you which she appreciates very much. Thanks for making it a special day.

  • Dimitri's 2007 soccer photo is here.

  • August 6, 2007: Just got back from our annual family trip to Onaway, MI (it's a long way away!). Lot's of fun, there. Then we're camping (that's a first) this week in Muskegon; ahhh, the smell (gag) of an open camp fire.

  • July 27, 2007: Wow! As usual, summer is flying by. I can already tell early in the morning when it's dark out. So, what did we do all summer? Not much; no major travel. Just enjoying life at home and an occasional sunny-day trip to the beach. We had a scary trip to the hospital with Angela (meningitis); We went boating with friends; Dimitri took golf lessons played a lot of baseball.

  • April 7, 2007: Back from Spring Break in Florida. Every day 85° and sunny! Back in Michigan, though, it's snow! Yes, yes, I hear you. Photos are coming.

  • March 25, 2007: Wow! I just went to see the Blue Man Group in concert. What great performers they are; technological geniuses. I recommend this group next time you're in 'Vegas.

  • January 3, 2007: I observed the funeral procession & ceremony of the late Gerald R. Ford from the top of the parking ramp of a tall building in Grand Rapids. Tens of thousands of people lined the streets to pay homage to the man. A 21-gun salute & a fly-over of 21 jets made it an awesome site. (pix)

  • January 1, 2007: Good morning! How does your head feel today? Last night we did something different with eight other couples... we rented a bus from DADDS and brought snacks and drinks while driving around. We had a great dinner at The Grill House in Allegan, then drove to Saugatuck to watch fireworks at midnight. After that we drove everyone safely back to their homes. (pix)
